Marlene & Andre are one of those couples that are definitely meant to be together – they cherished every bit of the wedding planning and the wedding day and their natural chemistry with each other came through in every photo we took. They said their vows at the elegant Misty River in Eikenhof on the 8th of March 2014.
The weather was perfect (it started pouring during the ceremony but the rain cleared up just in time for the couple photos!), the decor was lovely and these two looked stunning!
How did you meet/How did the proposal happen?
“We met in 2011 through mutual friends; we became friends and the friendship grew into true love. Our first holiday together was in Graskop and the first waterfall we visited was the Bridal Waterfall and two years later Andre proposed at the exact same waterfall.”
What was your favourite part of your wedding day?
Andre: “The whole day was fantastic for me, spending it with our family and friends, and then seeing my beautiful bride walking towards me.”
Marlene: “I’ve been dreaming so long about my wedding day, I really tried to take in every moment. I have a really small heart and cry very easily for anything, the minute I stood infront of the chapel, tears started to build up and I thought that I am going to cry the whole ceremony through, but the minute I saw Andre infront of the chapel waiting for me, I had a calmness come over me and I knew, I will be loved and cherished by my best friend for the rest of my life. Our first dance was also very special for me, in the weeks prior to the wedding we would practice our dance in the driveway the minute Andre got home. We’ve made a lot of memories building up to our wedding day.”
How would you describe your wedding theme?
“We didn’t really have a theme, but our colour scheme was white and they say white is the colour of true love.”
Do you have any tips/advice for our future brides and grooms?
“Enjoy enjoy and enjoy, the day goes by so quickly. There will always be people that talk negatively about something you have or haven’t done, but it’s your day, enjoy every moment.”
